Alfonso Keller-Casielles

Alfonso Keller-Casielles is a Spanish-American conductor and violinist. After performing with professional symphony and ballet orchestras in Oregon as a violinist, Alfonso began pursuing formal conducting studies at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in Cincinnati under the tutelage of Mark Gibson. There, he has led a dynamic and varied collection of performances, including most recently CCM’s production of Steven Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, leading Jennifer Higdon’s Viola Concerto with the student competition winner during Dr. Higdon’s CCM Residency, and Edward Elgar’s Cockaigne Overture. He has also participated in masterclasses with some of the world’s leading conductors and pedagogues, including Marin Alsop, Johannes Schlaefli, Jeffery Meyer, and Carl Topilow. When not busy studying scores, Alfonso enjoys black and white film photography and 8-ball billiards.
